Origins:
Ericeira comenzó como un pequeño pueblo pesquero en la costa atlántica de Portugal. Su nombre proviene de la abundancia de erizos de mar en la zona.
Middle Ages:
Durante la Edad Media, Ericeira fue un puerto importante para el comercio local y la pesca. Su posición estratégica la convirtió en punto de conexión marítima con otras regiones.
19th Century:
En el siglo XIX, Ericeira se consolidó como destino de veraneo para la aristocracia portuguesa. La pesca y la producción de conservas impulsaron su economía.
Present:
Hoy, Ericeira es famosa por sus playas y por ser la primera Reserva Mundial de Surf en Europa. Combina tradición pesquera con turismo, gastronomía y deportes acuáticos.
