Can I renew my ESTA for free to travel to the US? 🇺🇸🧾💸
Some time ago we announced that the US was doubling the price of the ESTA (news) from September 30, 2025, well, something we didn't know and I think many people don't know either, is that the answer is YEAH, You can renew it FREE as many times as you want during its validity period (2 years) or until your passport expires, there is no limit to renewals if it is still valid.
🔄 What does this mean in practice?
You can travel to the U.S. multiple times with the same ESTA while it is valid, as long as each stay is up to 90 days.
You do not need to apply for a new one as long as it remains valid, even if you change dates, accommodation or purpose (tourism, business, transit).
💰 When do you need to request a new one (at a cost)?
You will need to submit a new application and pay the fee (~ US $21–40) if any of these conditions apply:
The validity period ends (2 years or your passport expires).
You change your passport, nationality, name, gender, or address to another country.
You modify any answer in the ESTA form (for example, history of countries visited).

- It can be used multiple times without paying.
- ESTA expired or passport expired
- Changes in personal details or nationality
- Changes to form responses

Click on “Check ESTA Status”.
Select “Check Individual Status”.
Enter the required information:
Passport number
Birthdate
Authorization number (if you have one)
Or country of citizenship and passport issue/expiration dates
The system will show you:
Your ESTA status
Authorization number
Exact expiration date
