Starting from September 30, 2025, Travel to the United States will be more expensive for citizens of 41 countries, including those in the European Union. The cost of Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) will happen $21 (€18) a $40 (€34), almost double.

This increase occurs in a context of decline in international tourism towards the US, and could further discourage visitors. The new structure includes:

Furthermore, since the October 1, travelers from countries not exempt from visa (such as Argentina, Mexico, China, Brazil and India) will have to pay a new tax of $250, raising the total cost of the visa to 442 USD (379 €), one of the most expensive in the world.
