A brief history of Bratislava:
Origins:

19th Century:
In the 19th century, the city prospered under the Austro-Hungarian Empire, becoming renowned for its cultural and economic life. It was a key location for Slovak identity and nationalist movements.
Present:
Today, Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia, renowned for its historic center, its castle, and its location on the banks of the Danube. It is a political, cultural, and economic center in Central Europe.
You can see it all in a morning, so this excursion is also highly recommended. We went by bus and it only took an hour, but it's interesting to see how quickly you cross the border. They don't speak a word of English (maybe they will now), the people are incredibly friendly and try their best to understand you. Very cheap. Most importantly, it's very beautiful. We went to the Spanish embassy; it's very small, and we gave the man a hard time since it's not usually visited.
It was a real trip to Vienna, but we did a day trip on our own in a luxury coach. Flixbus From Vienna for €5.50. When we say luxury, we mean it was clean, the seats were comfortable, there was legroom for tall people, air conditioning, and bottled water.
